What is Energy Cycle?

Energy Cycle is a user-friendly, web-based system giving you visibility and control over your energy usage.

What will I be able to do/see?

You’ll be able to see all of the data we have collected from your system displayed in graphs and tables. This aims to help you understand how much you’re spending and where you could save.

How do you monitor a property’s energy usage?

We install a smart meter system in your home that collects the data. We then access this data online.

Will I be able to see my usage?

Yes.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes you need an internet connection, but if you don’t have one we can provide one.

What will I get once the system has been installed?

  • A personal login and password to our site where you’ll see the collected data
  • A monthly email from our monitoring teams with money saving tips
  • Daily/weekly/monthly reports and graphs

Is it suitable for both residential and commercial premises?

Yes our system is currently used in residential and commercial properties in the UK, including housing associations and community centres.

What size properties can the system be used in?

We have recently installed our system into a five story office building, measuring all areas of the building including air conditioning units and up to 600 AMP main incoming electricity.

Who installs the system? Do you have a network of installers? Does it have to be an approved installer?

On the residential equipment you don’t have to be qualified to install our equipment, but on a commercial installation you have to be a qualified electrician. Our appointed installers are RNR London Ltd.

Are the systems sold or leased?

Depending on the size of the installation we can offer a monthly lease option along with our annual monitoring subscription.

Do you offer training on how to use the system?

Yes training on installation can be given dependant on the company/individual’s certification.

How many appliances can I monitor?

As many as you’d like – our system can be expanded to match your requirements.

Do I need a special meter installed?

To monitor the basics (electricity, gas, water) you will ideally need to have a meter that includes a pulse output. To monitor electricity alone, if you do not have a pulse output, we can use a small clap that attaches to your mains cable.

How long is the warranty on equipment provided?

We offer 12 months on all equipment fitted.

What does the base system include?

The base system includes monitoring of electricity, gas and water usage (subject to presence of compatible meters) plus monitoring of one electrical appliance.

How much can I save?

The amount will vary depending on the products and equipment in your home. Our system will help to identify areas for improvement and can help to lower your bills.

How long is the contract?

One to three years.

What is the waiting time for an installation?

We aim to install as soon as possible, but in some cases, lead times may be from 1 to 3 months depending on the size of the order and the equipment provided.

How long does installation take?

This depends on the size of the house or building but on average it’s from 2 hours to 2 days.

Will the installation cause any disruption?

We aim to ensure that the install is as smooth and frustration free as possible.

Where will the equipment be installed and will it be visible?

The equipment will be fitted near the consumer unit it is monitoring. There will also be a base unit connected via an Ethernet cable to your broadband router. As much as is physically possible, we will do our best to ensure that the equipment will be out of sight unless you ask otherwise.

What do you need from me as a customer?

Please contact our team to arrange a date for installation, make space near all the consumer units you wish to monitor and let our friendly energy cycle installer into your home/business.
